Gmail Notifier Plus Terms of Use
Effective date: October 16, 2026
These terms describe use of Gmail Notifier Plus and its connection to Google. The application is provided by Refreshment Ltd. Liability Co. ("we" or "us"). The software is licensed separately as explained below.
Selecting Accept and Launch confirms that you accept these terms. Your rights under the applicable software licenses remain as described below.
Software license
Gmail Notifier Plus is open source software available under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 in LICENSE. Third-party components, artwork and other materials retain their applicable licenses and notices.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights to use, copy, modify or distribute software under the applicable open source licenses, or adds conditions to those licenses. If these terms conflict with an applicable software license, that license controls for the software it covers.
Google accounts and responsible use
Connect only Google accounts that you own or are authorized to access. You are responsible for the security of your Mac, your Google account and any permissions you grant. If an account is managed by an organization, its administrator may restrict access.
Use the app lawfully and respect other people's privacy and rights. Do not use its Google connection to access accounts without permission, bypass Google's access controls or usage limits, or interfere with Google's services. These requirements concern access to Google and do not restrict your open source software rights.
Your use of Google and Gmail is also subject to Google's Terms of Service, the Google APIs Terms of Service where applicable, and any terms that apply to your Google account. Gmail Notifier Plus is an independent project and is not operated, sponsored or endorsed by Google. Google and Gmail names and marks belong to their respective owners.
Your email and privacy
We claim no ownership of your email or other account content. Connecting an account authorizes the app to access information for the features you enable, as explained in the Privacy Statement.
During normal app operation, your Mac connects directly to Google. Your connected account information and email data are not uploaded to or retained on systems operated by Refreshment Ltd. Liability Co. The app does save settings and authorization locally, and macOS may retain notification information. The Privacy Statement explains this handling and the separate information you may voluntarily provide through support, testing access or donations.
Availability and notifications
The app depends on Google, internet connectivity, macOS and the permissions you choose. It checks mail periodically; counts, previews and notifications may be delayed, incomplete or unavailable. Check Gmail directly when timely receipt of a message matters.
Alpha and other prerelease builds may contain defects or change between versions. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every configuration, continued Google API access, future updates or a particular level of support. We may change or stop maintaining or distributing the project. This does not revoke rights already granted under its software licenses.
Donations are optional and do not purchase guaranteed support, future features or ownership rights.
Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of reliability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or freedom from defects. The warranty disclaimers and limitations of liability in the applicable software licenses apply.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, consumer protections or other rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. These terms do not replace the warranty or liability provisions of the applicable software licenses.
Stopping use
You may stop using the app at any time. You can remove connected accounts in Settings and revoke the app's access through your Google Account connections. See the Privacy Statement for local data removal and the limits of uninstalling the app alone.
The applicable open source licenses govern any termination of software license rights. These terms do not independently revoke those rights.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms for future use and will publish the revised text with a new effective date. Updates do not retroactively change rights granted under open source licenses. Changes to personal data handling are addressed in the Privacy Statement, including any required notice and consent.
